Energy Cogeneration Project at COMIGO Cooperative

News01 de July de 2025
Lippel is finalizing an important energy cogeneration project using wood chips and sugarcane bagasse as fuel.
The COMIGO Cooperative (Mixed Cooperative of Rural Producers of Southwest Goiás) emerged in 1974 due to the difficulty of producers in acquiring sacks, lubricating oil, and rice drying.
Currently, the COMIGO Cooperative has an industrial complex where it produces soybean oil, soybean meal, fertilizers, rations, dairy products, mineral supplements, seeds, and soap. In addition, the cooperative works with the resale of agricultural equipment and has a technological center, where its research is carried out.
Over time, the cooperative realized the opportunity to produce its own energy and generate savings, in addition to consuming clean and quality energy. Thus, the partnership between Lippel and the COMIGO Cooperative is born, initiating the elaboration of the energy cogeneration project.
The equipment used for the development of the cooperative project was produced by Lippel. Among the systems used in this project are: waste reception, chipping, classification, movement, storage, and boiler feeding.
Among the equipment that is part of the COMIGO Cooperative's energy cogeneration project are the wood chipper, the disc classifier for classifying wood chips, the reception table for logs, redler and screw hoppers for receiving wood chips, belt conveyors, sweeping screw, horizontal silo, wood chip yard, and sugarcane bagasse yard.
The production process for energy cogeneration begins with the grinding of wood residues, turning them into chips. These chips pass through the disc classifier, separating the very small fractions that are not suitable for burning.
Next, the chip is transported through belt conveyors to the dryer. After drying, the biomass is conveyed through belt conveyors to the storage silo or is sent directly to the boiler, where the biomass will be converted into thermal or electrical energy.
