Utilization of fruit trees for biomass generation

News11 de April de 2026
We call biomass any organic matter of plant or animal origin, used with the purpose of producing energy. Some of the most common examples are: firewood, fruit tree residues, eucalyptus, among others. Currently, according to government data, biomass is the third largest source of the Brazilian energy matrix, accounting for 9%.
Lippel assists customers who produce fruit trees, such as oranges, in finding viable solutions for the treatment and processing of waste, so that it compensates the investment.
The use of biomass from their properties brings a great economy to the producer. Formerly, at the end of their useful life, tree residues were discarded. Now, all waste is utilized and transformed into wood chips, which are sold to the industry as fuel.
In addition, among its other advantages, we can highlight:
- Reduced cost;
- Reduction in the emission of polluting gases;
- Easy to store, convert, and transport;
- Can be generated from various materials;
- High capacity for waste utilization.
One of the ideal equipment for this production is the Hercules 1400. The largest Rodo-Forestry chipper in Brazil is approved by the Detran for road transport. One of the advantages of the machine's large feeding opening is the ease of receiving bulky materials such as trees from orange orchards with many branches and roots, and whole trees from the forest, ensuring efficiency in the process. It has a useful width of 1.4 m, a huge traction roller, and power above 600 HP.
The equipment is easy to handle, easy to feed, and requires little maintenance in the short, medium, and long term, now being used as an agricultural solution and tool.
