"The product completely replaces firewood, and can be sold to industries that use boilers, bakeries, restaurants, and fireplaces."
Embrapa Pecuária Sul, in partnership with Embrapa Agroenergy (Brasília/DF), promotes this Thursday (28), starting at 8 am in Bagé (RS) the Seminar "Rice husk briquettes: an option to add value to the rice production chain". Researcher José Dílcio Rocha, from Embrapa Agroenergy, will talk about the briquetting of rice husk, a process that has proven to be a viable alternative for this byproduct of rice production.
(...) "We will show an alternative way of using this material capable of adding value. Rice husk briquette has twice the calorific value of eucalyptus firewood, which is the main source of energy for the furnaces of companies in our region," says Pilon, mentioning cement factories, fertilizer factories, brickworks, and slaughterhouses.
