Municipal Composting Yard receives 373 tons of organic waste for proper disposal.

The City Hall, through the Secretariat of Conservation and Public Services (Sesep), collected, in December 2021, more than 370 tons of organic waste generated by urban tree pruning and selective collection of organics in the fruit and vegetable area of ​​the Public Market, managed by the Secretariat of Labor and Economic Development (STDE). The correct destination given to these organic waste is the Municipal Composting Yard, located at the Waste Treatment Center (CTR).

The material will be transformed into organic compost and will be used as fertilizer for the production of new plant seedlings, distribution of small quantities to the population, as well as in the conservation of green areas of squares and municipal parks, activity developed by the Municipal Environment Agency (AMA).

The initiative is part of the sectoral agreements of the Integrated Management Consortium of the Metropolitan Region (CGIR), in line with the collection, transport and proper disposal of waste.
